About Plato Academy Schools

Plato Academy Schools is a network of eight public charter schools across Florida, dedicated to providing students with a well-rounded education rooted in academic excellence, character development, and Greek language and culture. Established in 2004, Plato Academy has grown from a single school to a thriving community that now includes a high school in Tampa. The schools offer a rigorous curriculum that not only meets Florida Standards but also incorporates advanced academics, arts, and a strong emphasis on Greek heritage. What sets Plato Academy apart is its commitment to individualized instruction and a whole-child approach, ensuring students receive personal attention and opportunities to excel in academics, arts, sports, and leadership. The Socratic method is at the heart of the teaching philosophy, encouraging critical thinking, curiosity, and experiential learning. Students benefit from small class sizes, high behavioral standards, and a safe, supportive environment where families play an active role in their children’s education. Plato Academy fosters a close-knit, family-centered atmosphere, uniting teachers, students, parents, and the community in a shared mission. The result is a nurturing environment where students develop a lifelong love for learning, respect for cultural diversity, and the skills needed for future success
