The mission of PAULUS is to help people cultivate themselves and collaborate in building a better, more humane, more Christian world. According to the founder, Father Alberione, “our mission is not only aimed at the progress of each person individually, but, above all, at creating a new mentality in society, that is, giving it a new image, a new direction”. The Pia Sociedade de São Paulo inherited this comprehensive vision of mission from its founder. He used to say: “Do not deal only with religion, but speak of everything in a Christian manner; similar to a Catholic University which, if complete, teaches theology, philosophy, literature, medicine, economics, politics, natural sciences, etc.; everything, however, presented in a Christian way”. Our “business” goes beyond the sum of means and products. It is more comprehensive, it is the religious/human culture of PAULUS that is realized with the work and dedication of each collaborator. PAULUS wishes to provide a service to the Church: assuming in it the options and commitments, in the light of the Gospel and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, especially of the Second Vatican Council, the Latin American Bishops' Conferences and the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil. In its publications, the Bible occupies a relevant space. It is the book par excellence, which the Pia Sociedade de São Paulo, through Editora PAULUS, seeks to offer to people, not only through printed publications, but also through digital media, films, music, and many other forms of media, as well as through the technical and professional training of FAPCOM. And a service to society: promoting human values and rescuing wounded human dignity as much as possible, seeking to reach non-Catholic Christians, non-Christians, and non-believers as well.
