The brand has been recognized by car enthusiasts since the early 70s, starting with parts trading on Kerepesi Road. The next significant step was in 1992, launching vehicle sales as an official Ford partner, where Petrányi Autó remains a leading dealer to this day. Following a strong retail focus, the key to growth was serving continuously evolving corporate needs with a conscious fleet policy, supported by the opening of a second showroom and fleet center on Üllői Road in 2002. In 2008, during the crisis, the opportunistic owners opened their third showroom on Budaörsi Road, which also became a premium Ford Store location. Petrányi Autó's activities have also continuously expanded with independent new business areas. Since the launch of Next Autó Kft in 2002, it has grown into one of the leading leasing and fleet management companies in Hungary. With Next Car Rental and miniBUD Kft, the business became an important market player in short-term car rental, tourism, and passenger transport, with the former also being the Hungarian franchise partner of GreenMotion, which is advancing sustainability. Since 2010, the Airport Service Consortium (ASK) has been performing comprehensive technical maintenance for the Budapest Airport service vehicle fleet. On the parts front, alkatreszfordpetranyi.hu is also in the TOP10 in Hungary. In vehicle sales, the multibrand era began in 2022 with the opening of the fourth Budapest location, Petrányi Autó Centrum on Mázsa Square.
