About Pestalozzi Kinder- und Jugenddorf Wahlwies e.V.

The Pestalozzi Children's and Youth Village Wahlwies is an independent, non-denominational youth welfare institution near Lake Constance. Children and young people in social emergencies find a loving home here with family-like care. The focus is on individual development – from kindergarten through school to apprenticeships in crafts and agricultural professions. The village offers a school for educational support and nine recognized training companies where ten different professions can be learned. This creates a holistic educational approach based on the principle of "head, heart, and hand." The non-profit association Pestalozzi Children's and Youth Village Wahlwies e.V. is the sponsor. The village community consists of around twenty family houses, a central village square with a community hall, school, workshops, and residential buildings for employees and interns. People live and work here who are committed to the well-being and future of the children. The community is characterized by responsibility, care, and the common goal of enabling young people to grow up well. Located in the Wahlwies district of Stockach, just four kilometers from Lake Constance, the children's village is surrounded by hills, streams, fields, and orchards. The natural environment with opportunities for play and exploration acts like an adventure playground. An open infrastructure with an organic shop, vegetable distribution, farm, practical offerings, and event spaces connects the children's village with the community and makes it a vibrant part of Wahlwies.
