Sant Pere Claver - Fundació Sanitària is a private non-profit institution with public vocation and funding, created in 1948. With a long tradition and strong roots in the Poble Sec and Sants neighborhoods of Barcelona, it provides public coverage services in Mental Health, complementary examinations, and Allergy. SPC also has an Ophthalmology Service and a Dental Clinic that covers all dental specialties. In 2007, the foundation expanded its service portfolio to the social sphere, prioritizing programs that respond to social demands identifiable with marginalization situations. The Social Club for adults with mental health problems, the Volunteering and Cooperation program, or the Network of Integration Housing are some examples. It also has a Teaching Institute, with its own training space, which aims to disseminate the knowledge of our professionals and collaborators, as well as generate new proposals to share from an interdisciplinary perspective. Also within the orbit of Sant Pere Claver-Fundació Sanitària is the Fundació Tutelar Lluís Artigues, which ensures the well-being of incapacitated persons who are affected by a mental disorder, intellectual disabilities, or age-related illnesses.
