ACHIEVEMENTS After an impeccable professional career, Dr. Luis Izquierdo Vásquez (former president of the Peruvian Society of Ophthalmology) decided to establish Oftalmosalud on April 15, 1993. His objective was to found an eye clinic that combined the expertise of the most select medical staff with state-of-the-art ophthalmological technology equipment. In 2003 the Teaching – Academic area was created, which receives ophthalmologists and residents of the specialty, who complete their training in our center, being to date the only private ophthalmological clinic in Peru where future ophthalmologists can be trained. In 2007 the Medal of Honor of the Congress of the Republic, in the Degree of Grand Officer 2007, was awarded to the medical director Luis Izquierdo Villavicencio, for the creation of the "Ver para Creer" program. Medical campaign focused on screening and free cataract surgeries for people with limited resources. In 2010 our Medical Director Dr. Luis Izquierdo Villavicencio, receives the Achivement Award 2010 from the American Academy of Ophthalmology Chicago.
