This is the story of a company built on hard work, dedication, and respect for people. Atakarejo is the result of the vision of its founder, Teobaldo Costa, a humble man who, with great effort and entrepreneurial vision, transformed the fruit and vegetable stand he started in 1979 into one of the largest self-service wholesale chains in Brazil. The first store was opened in Salvador in 1994. Since then, it has not stopped opening stores, expanding to other cities in Bahia. With the purpose of reducing the cost of living for the population and contributing to a fairer and better Northeast, it offers quality and variety in its stores, good service, and fresh products, in addition to, of course, low prices on bakery, confectionery, butcher, sliced meats and cheeses, and a mix of more than 10,000 products. A daily commitment that is present in everything it does, from partnerships with family farming to the care for its own brand — Ekobom.
