About NVPMT

The Dutch Association for Psychomotor Therapy (NVPMT) represents the interests of psychomotor therapists, stimulates quality improvement, monitors the quality of professionals, and facilitates continuous knowledge innovation within psychomotor therapy. Our mission is to ensure that psychomotor therapy is part of regular healthcare, accessible, and known and recognized as a valuable form of treatment for people who are (or are at risk of) getting stuck or dropping out. Psychomotor therapy (PMT) is a form of treatment for people with psychological problems, which systematically uses interventions focused on body awareness and movement behavior (see further: professional profile on the website). The NVPMT is affiliated with the Federation of Professional Psychotherapeutic Professions (FVB). The FVB is the umbrella organization of the Dutch Associations for Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Psychomotor Therapy, and Psychomotor Child Therapy. The FVB provides direction for the quality improvement of psychotherapeutic professions and advocates for a good positioning of these professions within the various fields of work.
