On March 12, 2002, Renfe and Siemens established NERTUS Mantenimiento Ferroviario S.A. to provide comprehensive maintenance services for railway rolling stock. The establishment of NERTUS allows for the leveraging of synergies between Siemens, as a train technologist and manufacturer, and the General Directorate of Manufacturing and Maintenance, Renfe Integria, as Renfe's industrial organization specializing in the maintenance of railway rolling stock. NERTUS began its business operations on May 1, 2002, at the maintenance center that Renfe Integria operates in Cornellá de Llobregat, a town located near the city of Barcelona. In December 2010, NERTUS expanded its corporate purpose to include the maintenance of facilities and equipment in the transport sector in general, and in February 2011, it adapted its name to the new corporate framework, becoming NERTUS Mantenimiento Ferroviario y Servicios, S. A. Today, with over 500 employees, our commitment remains to offer innovative, high-quality, and efficient maintenance and services.
