The small full-range retailer in the neighborhood or on the outskirts: this has been nahkauf's positioning within REWE for many years. Over 420 stores ensure the supply of daily necessities in many small communities. They are operated exclusively by independent merchants, who are almost all associated as cooperative members of the REWE Group. REWE defines the nahkauf sales format as a modern neighborhood market that fulfills the function of basic supply with food and daily necessities even in areas that are rather problematic in terms of shopping opportunities. These can certainly be locations that are situated in city or town centers. Convincing economic performance, sustainable action, and social commitment, pursued permanently and consistently: these are the cornerstones on which nahkauf and the entire REWE Group align their daily actions.
