Founded in 864, the Monnaie de Paris is the doyen of French institutions and the oldest company in the world. It carries out the public service of manufacturing euro coins while also striking coins for foreign countries as part of international calls for tender, which it produces at its Pessac site in Gironde. Attached to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry since September 1796, the Monnaie de Paris became an Industrial and Commercial Public Establishment (EPIC) in January 2007. The 11 Conti Museum opened its doors in 2018. This new Parisian cultural destination highlights the institution's heritage collections and allows visitors to discover the art of coin making. It manufactures collector's art objects (coins, medals, jewelry, decorations, castings...) at its historic Quai de Conti site in Paris, and as such is part of the Comité Colbert of French luxury companies. While preserving a high tradition in metalworking crafts, the Monnaie de Paris supports contemporary artistic creation (collaborations with Philippe Starck, Karl Lagerfeld or Christian Lacroix). It also organizes cultural (exhibitions Grayson Perry, Subodh Gupta, David Lachapelle, concerts, installations, performances...) and charitable events. Its actions reflect its vocation as an ethical and responsible company. The Monnaie de Paris has approximately 500 employees spread across its two production sites. Chairman and CEO: Marc Schwartz
