Mexican American Opportunity Foundation

About Mexican American Opportunity Foundation

Since our founding in 1963 in Los Angeles, we have grown to become one of the largest nonprofits in California. We maintain an operating budget of over $100 million annually, and we serve over 125,000 people per year across these seven counties: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Kern, and Monterey. When we began providing support to the community in the 1960s, we focused on the Mexican-American community at that time. As our local Latino community grew beyond Mexican-Americans, we began serving the Latino community more broadly. Today, MAOF is proud to serve people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds.
