About MD SPA
MD S.p.A., formerly Lillo Group S.p.A., is one of the most important players in the Italian large-scale retail sector. It is far removed from the discount store model and is increasingly a brand for quality shopping. The company's history is identified with that of its founder, Patrizio Podini, born in Bolzano, who has been active in the large-scale retail market since the 1960s. In 1994, he decided to invest in the southern regions of Italy, founding MD Discount, which he grew until its "landing" on the national territory with the acquisition in 2013 of the LD Market chain, present in the North and owned by the Lombardini Group. Thus, a reality was born that today boasts 820 stores and over 8,000 employees. Hundreds of millions of items handled annually. 8 warehouses: Gricignano di Aversa (CE), 2 in Dittaino (EN), Bitonto (BA), Trezzo (MI), Mantova, Macomer (NU), Verdellino (BG).
