About Massey University

We are a world-leading university with a reputation for caring and a commitment to our people and places. We are inspired by our name Te Kunenga Ki Pūrehuroa. We embrace diversity, talent and performance, and provide staff and students with an extensive range of opportunities to develop intellectually, professionally and personally. We began in 1927 as a small agricultural college in Palmerston North. Under our first principal, Sir Geoffrey Peren, we widened our range and enhanced our reputation. Sir Geoffrey retired in 1958, and in 1964, we became a full university. In the last 40 years, we have continued growing, to become New Zealand's largest residential university, spread over three cities. We’re also New Zealand’s leading university for online learning. Thanks for interacting with us on LinkedIn. We encourage active discussion and have community guidelines to ensure we foster healthy social media communities. Let’s be respectful of others.
