Marport, established in 2001 as a joint venture between Arkas Holding, one of Turkey's oldest institutions, and Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), which has nearly 50 port investments worldwide, is not only Turkey's first private container port but also holds a leading and pioneering role in its sector. Since its establishment, Marport has rapidly continued its land expansion and equipment procurement projects to meet Turkey's increasing container volume, becoming the country's most significant container port. With the highest market share in the Marmara and Ambarlı Regions, Marport continues its leadership with the title of the sector's highest annual container throughput, handling approximately 1.9 million TEU in 2016. Operating on 530,000 square meters with 7 quays, 10 quay cranes (SSG), 5 mobile cranes, and 41 yard cranes (RTG), it possesses sufficient land and equipment to serve all global shipping lines.
