In 1985, spouses Mrs. Marijun Locke, a Filipina from Bauang, La Union and Mr. Andrew Locke, an Australian businessman established Able Computing Limited Company, which was known and originated in Papua New Guinea. The fast and continuing growth of this company has been spreading out wider range of services in conjunction with its branch offices in the said state. It now serves six countries as it is one of limited few companies in Australia operating in Asia. Because of the promising potential of Able Computing Limited, the couple decided to put up another company in the Philippines. In July 14, 2009, they created Bangalow Limited Company sited at San Fernando La Union. The company was launched and aimed to contribute to the accelerating rate of economic growth and social progress in the province. Eagerness to engage in new forms of business, they decided to put up Marand Resort & Spa under Bangalow Limited Company. Since Marijun Locke was raised from Bauang, they’ve located their resort in the said place. According to Mrs. Locke, one of the reasons why they put up the resort was to help the people of Bauang by employing them in their own resort. On April 8, 2011, BLC formally opened Marand Resort and Spa located in Mc Arthur Highway, Baccuit Sur, Bauang, La Union. Its name was extracted from the owner’s names, Mar from Marijun and And for Andrew. With temperatures rising nowadays, newly opened Marand Resort & Spa beckons vacationers and local people to enjoy the recreational activities offered by the resort.
