Mansão do Caminho

About Mansão do Caminho

A work of love for your neighbor. The Mansão do Caminho, built on an area of 78,000 square meters with 44 buildings, is surrounded by the deep green of the native forest and the festive colors of its gardens. Divaldo Franco and Nilson de Souza Pereira, better known as Tio Nilson, founded this work of love and brotherhood on August 15, 1952, in the city of Salvador, Bahia. The first building of Mansão do Caminho – a name given in honor of Casa do Caminho, created by the early Christians – was located at Rua Barão de Cotegipe, No. 124, in the Calçada neighborhood of Salvador. However, in 1955, the land where Mansão do Caminho is currently located, in the Pau da Lima neighborhood, was acquired. Thus began what would become the experience of family homes, reprogramming the family environment with wise moral, Christian, and Spiritist guidance, surrounded by the fraternal tenderness of uncles and aunts, always under the guidance of Divaldo Franco and Tio Nilson. Therefore, under the lights and blessings of the noble spiritual mentor Joanna de Ângelis, these homes flourished, contributing to the intellectual, moral, and spiritual improvement of hundreds of children who received from this hive of love the unique opportunity for a dignified and happy existence. Currently, Mansão do Caminho receives more than 5,000 people daily seeking material, educational, and spiritual assistance. In the educational department, it welcomes almost two thousand students who begin their life story in the A Manjedoura Daycare Center, going through the Esperança Kindergarten, the Alvorada Nova School, continuing through the Jesus Cristo and Allan Kardec Schools for elementary education, and proceeding with their studies up to high school at the Colégio Nilson de Souza Pereira.
