Médicus

About Médicus

In 1957, Mr. Jean-Claude Bleau, Orthotist-Prosthetist, founded the Médicus group. The only French speaker in his profession, he opened his first laboratory and began his career in a modest space of just 300 square feet. Passionate, he opened the first orthotics and prosthetics laboratory and offered a shoe fitting service for comfort and custom orthopedic shoe manufacturing. A visionary, he quickly became a leader in his field. Since 2003, his daughter, Jacinte Bleau, has taken over the company and has made it, today, the largest private employer of certified orthotists-prosthetists in Quebec. Médicus brings together several companies which are separate entities with their own functions: •Médicus Orthopedic Laboratory •Médicus Sport •Ortho-Dynamic •Médicus Technologies International
