About LVNL

Air traffic control is the core activity of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands. Other tasks of LVNL include renewing and managing technical systems, providing aviation information, providing training for air traffic control, and providing aviation charts and publications. In short, LVNL is responsible for the management of civil airspace and everything that entails. We have been doing this since 1923 and since 1993 as an Independent Administrative Body (ZBO). As an Independent Administrative Body, we provide air traffic control at the direction of the Minister of Infrastructure and Environment. We are accountable to the State Secretary for performance and policy. We also work closely with the Ministry of Defence, manager of military airspace, among others. For civil air traffic matters, LVNL is the link between the government and all other parties involved in air traffic control. We strive to shape air traffic control as well as possible with all stakeholders. With a balance between safety, efficiency, and environment. And with full attention to quality. Together we make aviation possible!
