The history of Luís Simões begins in the 30s, when Fernando Luís Simões and Delfina Rosa Soares, still teenagers, transported, by cart, vegetables and fruit produced by their families to the supply markets of Lisbon and Malveira. In 1945 they married and started, in parallel, a horticultural activity and opened a grocery store. In 1948 Fernando Luís Simões ventured to get a heavy vehicle driving license and the couple bought their first truck. Transport and integrated logistics represent about 90% of the business volume and are considered the core business of Luís Simões. Complementary activities have been growing steadily, giving consistency to the diversification strategy outlined at the end of the 80s.
