About Lufthansa

Deutsche Lufthansa AG, headquartered in Cologne, is one of the largest globally operating groups in civil aviation. In the mid-1990s, the group evolved from a scheduled airline with the Lufthansa brand. This is still operated by Deutsche Lufthansa AG as the sole owner and parent company of today's group, but only as a pure passenger airline with Frankfurt am Main as its home airport. Internally, this largest airline in Germany is referred to as Lufthansa Passage Airlines. The air cargo business was transferred in 1994 to the subsidiary Lufthansa Cargo AG, and aircraft maintenance to Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT). Catering is operated by the also group-owned LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG under the brand name LSG Sky Chefs. Deutsche Lufthansa AG is the initiator and founding member of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance.
