About Lucas Onderwijs

Lucas Onderwijs is a foundation for special primary and secondary education. Under the foundation's board, there are 47 primary schools, 4 special primary education schools, and 3 expertise centers in the municipalities of Den Haag, Leidschendam-Voorburg, and Rijswijk. The sociocratic school De School in Zandvoort also belongs to the foundation. In secondary education, Lucas Onderwijs has 33 locations in the regions of Den Haag/Leidschendam-Voorburg, Delft/Rijswijk/Zoetermeer, and Westland. In total, our schools provide education for over 34,000 students. Lucas Onderwijs works from the vision that every child is entitled to the best possible education and enables and encourages its schools in this by collaborating: from values, originally derived from the tradition of the Christian faith community; with attractive education that is distinguished by development, attention to quality, good care for employees, and solidarity with the disadvantaged; in active partnership with the social environment; with room for the diversity of the schools.
