Lojas Edmil was inaugurated in August 1980 by Mr. Adauto Pereira Valias, an idealistic, progressive man with a mastery of the commercial market. Located in a small 150 m² room in Elói Mendes-MG, the small Edmil mattress factory had only two employees at the time. With two years of operation, the founder decided to pursue new businesses and set up the first own store of Grupo Edmil in the city of Varginha-MG, selling only mattresses. The results were positive and led to a focus on opening new stores. Over the years, investments were made in product portfolios, and sales of home appliances and electronics began, increasingly strengthening customer loyalty. 41 years have passed, and today Grupo Edmil has 72 stores spread across the state of Minas Gerais, carries out its own INMETRO-certified mattress and upholstery manufacturing, and also operates in the agribusiness sector with over 20 rural properties in operation.
