About Loja do Mecânico

Gurgel Ferramentas was founded in 1993 by Márcio Gurgel, who sold tools door-to-door and identified a need for specialized tools among his clients. In 1998, we launched our online sales catalog, and in 2000, we created the Ferramentas Automotivas website to serve mechanics. By 2003, we launched our e-commerce platform, becoming the pioneering company for machinery and tools in Brazil. In 2006, we rebranded as Loja do Mecânico, the Brazilian worker's store. The following year, we diversified our product range to cater to professionals and hobbyists nationwide. In 2012, our organization demonstrated its strength and credibility by achieving our first 1 million orders delivered! In 2013, we established FortG, our own brand focused on developing high-quality tools for all segments. By 2015, we had delivered 5 million orders! Transitioning from online to physical presence, LDM has operated a physical store in Franca (SP) since 2006. Since 2018, we have also operated a distribution center in Cajamar (SP) and another in Recife (PE). In 2020, we opened a second unit in Ribeirão Preto (SP) and completed a transaction with an investment fund called EB Capital, aiming for further professionalization. Our goal is to get closer to the worker, and to achieve this, Loja do Mecânico is expanding its reach with a new distribution center in Betim (MG) and new stores in Jundiaí (SP), Franca (SP), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Limeira (SP), Praia Grande (SP), Belo Horizonte (MG), Sorocaba (SP), Campinas (SP), Jacareí (SP), and Presidente Prudente (SP). To support all this, we rely on over 1,200 talented individuals, ensuring employee satisfaction through structured programs for Climate Diagnosis, Culture Projects, Inclusion and Diversity, Career Policies, and the Empathy Area.
