About Ligue de l'enseignement - centre confédéral

La Ligue de l'enseignement was created in 1866 with the mission to help individuals be full citizens. As a popular education movement, La Ligue de l'enseignement encourages youth engagement, implements citizen actions for environmental education, offers adapted sports activities for everyone, and provides a diverse range of holidays including international stays and language courses. The holiday sector of La Ligue de l'enseignement is currently the leading organizer of holiday camps and discovery classes in France, and one of the largest for day camps, music festivals, and BAFA/BAFD training. It is also a major operator of stays for families and adults, and the European leader in language stays. La Ligue de l'enseignement is currently the leading French associative coordination, with nearly 30,000 affiliated associations, 1.6 million members, and 102 departmental federations. For 150 years, it has continued to pursue the goal of building the popular education of tomorrow and upholding the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity of a secular and supportive republic. It operates in 4 fields: Education and Training: La Ligue de l'enseignement supports educational stakeholders, teachers, families, trainers and animators, elected officials and local authority agents, to ensure this right truly benefits everyone throughout life. Culture: Through a dense network of cultural dissemination, La Ligue de l'enseignement reaches diverse audiences, starting with children and young people, by mobilizing the three levers of artistic and cultural education: attending works, meeting artists, and artistic practices. All arts are concerned, including cinema, performing arts, and music. La Ligue de l'enseignement is particularly attentive to developing a taste for reading and contributing to the democratization of digital culture. Educational Holidays and Leisure: As the leading organizer of holiday camps, with Vacances pour tous, La Ligue de l'enseignement advocates for the democratization of this experience outside the family setting, conducive to deepening a passion, exploring new interests, and learning to live together. La Ligue de l'enseignement promotes youth mobility by also supporting their engagement and solidarity projects in Europe or internationally. Sport for All: Through the primary school sports federation, Usep, and the leading affinity multisports federation in France, Ufolep, La Ligue de l'enseignement offers sports activities adapted to every age and aims to promote practices that meet social needs such as education, social inclusion, disability, and health.
