Founded in 1918, the Ligue contre le cancer is a non-profit organization recognized as being of public utility, relying on public generosity and the commitment of its volunteers and employees. Our federation, composed of 103 departmental committees present throughout the national territory and overseas, is apolitical and financially independent. The Loir-et-Cher committee is located in Blois, 15 Avenue Gambetta, and receives you on its premises from Monday to Friday. And, in order to cover the entire 41 region and be as close as possible to the sick and their loved ones, we are also present in other towns: Mer, Romorantin-Villefranche, Salbris, and Vendôme. Our missions: 1 - Advance research, to enable a better understanding of the disease and thus overcome it. 2 - Prevent risk factors (tobacco, alcohol, diet, sedentary lifestyle) and raise awareness of screenings and vaccination, through major campaigns (Mars Bleu, Juin Vert, Octobre Rose…) 3 - Support sick people and their loved ones: free support activities and care, financial and material aid. 4 - Defend and improve the rights of sick people: during major debates such as access to bank loans (right to be forgotten), professional reintegration... but also as user representatives, particularly in health facilities.
