About Life Styles

Founded in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1976, Life Styles is a non-profit organization serving 200+ individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Northwest Arkansas. Our guiding mission—To enthusiastically support our customers in reaching their full potential as contributing members of the community—is grounded in our unshakeable belief that community life is for everyone, that all people have value, and that when individuals with disabilities are given the opportunity and supports to participate and contribute in the community, all our lives are enriched. To help our clients live productive, self-directed lives at home, work, and play, Life Styles has developed an interconnected suite of programs: Adult Development Services, Supported Living Services, and Supported Employment Services—all designed to help individuals with disabilities build skills and confidence to live as independently as possible. Adult Development Services—including classes, social events, and performances—encourage skill-building and social interaction and are primarily offered at the 16,000-square-foot Stensgaard Center and the 7,000-square-foot Blair Center For The Arts. Supported Living Services-- encourage independence and goal setting, are delivered via a 300+ corps of trained direct support professionals and onsite at Life Styles’ Sycamore Street Residences. Supported Employment Services-- help clients find employment through partnerships with local businesses and the Life Styles’-owned Fayetteville Shredding Company.
