Lidl established itself in France in 1989. We experienced very rapid expansion, allowing us to become a key player in mass retail. Lidl France today comprises 45,000 employees, over 1,570 stores, 25 Regional Directorates, and a head office across two sites: in Strasbourg, which brings together all administrative support functions (HR and Training Administration, Finance, IT), and in Rungis, where we have consolidated all operational support functions (Purchasing Center, Logistics and Supply Chain, Real Estate, Technical, Commercial Development, Investments, HR, Legal, and General Expenses). In 2012, Lidl underwent a turning point in its history with a new commercial venture: store renovations, expanded product offerings, and modernized packaging and in-store merchandising – a true challenge! Today, as a key player in French mass retail, LIDL has established itself as a neighborhood store with a selected assortment: we have increased our market share, earned the trust of new customers, and have been voted "Best Store Chain" for several consecutive years.
