In Romania, LEONI's story began in 1999, and since then the company has become a central pillar in the local automotive industry, operating 9 factories and a Shared Service Center, with a total area of 175,650 sqm. Our history in Romania began with the opening of the first Wiring Systems Division factory in Arad in 1999. In 2002, the factory in Bistrita was opened, followed by the one in Pitesti 3 years later. We continued to expand with satellite factories in Beius in 2010. Later, in 2015, LEONI inaugurated its second factory in Bistrita. In 2016, we established our first LEONI Shared Service Center (SSC) in Cluj-Napoca, from where 17 distinct corporate functions are coordinated. In 2018, the company took a significant leap, opening two satellite factories simultaneously, in Marghita and Bumbești-Jiu. The second factory in Arad was inaugurated in 2019, contributing to the increase in production capacity in the west of the country. The most recent achievement was the opening of a new factory in Beius in 2023, which marked a new stage in the expansion of the business in Romania. Almost all cars circulating in Romania have wiring harnesses produced by LEONI, and the company's customers are some of the largest automotive manufacturers worldwide. With vast expertise in research and development, LEONI is a trusted partner for automotive manufacturers in exploring sustainable and connected mobility concepts. LEONI produces low-voltage products for internal combustion engine cars, products for hybrid engines, high-voltage products for electric cars, and products for hydrogen-powered cars in Romania.
