Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich champions the right of every person to be a free, dignified, and valuable member of society. With over 100 locations and nearly 2,000 people with intellectual disabilities being supported, Lebenshilfe OÖ is the largest provider of disability support in Upper Austria. Around 1,500 employees support people with intellectual disabilities in fully and partially supported living groups, in workshops with diverse offerings, external groups, shops, cafes, and farm shops, as well as in integrated employment. Furthermore, Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich offers mobile early intervention and family support in the districts of Vöcklabruck and Kirchdorf an der Krems, manages special education kindergartens and integration groups throughout Upper Austria, as well as a special education after-school care center in Vöcklabruck. Lebenshilfe OÖ is a large, vibrant social organization with a family-like corporate culture. The realization of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities forms the basis of its actions. Great value is placed on person-centered support and on promoting self-empowerment and self-determination. This also includes ensuring that employees have sufficient time for intensive support of people with intellectual disabilities.
