About Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG

The energy sector is undergoing an unprecedented transformation process – and so is LEAG, as East Germany's largest energy producer. LEAG's goal is to develop into a versatile provider of energy, infrastructure, and services. To this end, the company uses existing infrastructures, areas, and expertise for new business fields and expands its portfolio in line with the energy transition. This includes the expansion of renewable energies on recultivated mining areas, but also the development of electricity storage capacities, grid-serving gas power plants, and the development of the domestic hydrogen sector. Based on many years of experience in operating electrical systems and electricity marketing, LEAG also offers energy services on the market, including the direct marketing of renewable electricity. LEAG's main workshop's expertise in mechanical and steel construction, maintenance, and servicing for the railway sector is also active on the market with a constantly growing range of services. Further business areas currently being developed concern the circular economy and regional and real estate development. In the area of training and securing skilled workers, LEAG has initiated various cooperations, including with Deutsche Bahn, E.DIS and enviaM, as well as HIL. From solutions for individuals to solutions for many – that is our vision. With around 7,000 employees at 13 locations, the LEAG Group is one of the largest private employers in East Germany's industrial sector. Around 3,000 partner companies provide supplies and services in the field of mining and energy – an important economic factor, especially for Lusatia.
