About Lafim - Diakonie für Menschen im Alter

The Lafim-Diakonie is a diaconal organization with a long tradition. It was established in 1882 by imperial order to secure the survival of small church institutions in economically difficult times. Initially, the organization started under the name "Provinzialausschuss für Innere Mission", later the "Landesausschuss für Innere Mission (Lafim)" was founded as an umbrella organization. From this, a widespread care network has developed in the state of Brandenburg to this day, with a total of over 120 facilities and almost 3,000 employees. Our mission to this day is diaconal work and support for young people, the elderly, and people with disabilities in very different life situations. Christian diaconal values and neighborly love are always at the center of our actions – and that out of conviction.
