For more than 148 years, in Arequipa, Peru's second city, Laboratorios Portugal was born as part of a family business run by Don José Fermín Portugal Puertas. This organization, dedicated to Commerce and Industry, focused at that time on the formation of a pharmaceutical center, which they registered as J.F. Portugal Hijos S.A., which would dispense the products developed by the new Laboratory. Today, due to its quality, Laboratorios Portugal products are found on all five continents, making a reality a desire coined from its beginnings: to create high-quality products accessible to everyone and to be one of the most consolidated companies in the country. Laboratorios Portugal currently produces more than 300 products, in pharmaceutical lines (solids, semi-solids, and liquids), cosmetic lines (among the most important are the Bahía brand, Mother-of-Pearl cream, and Snail cream), natural product lines, nutritional supplements, vitamins, galenicals, among others. For 6 years, we have been increasingly exporting, reaching North, Central, and South America; Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The company's philosophy is simple and practical: To make high-quality products available to the vast majority at accessible prices, with the backing of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification, which serves as an indispensable tool for business excellence.
