Present in France since 1881, the Salvation Army is evolving its organizational structure at the beginning of the year 2000. Thus today it is split into two distinct but closely linked structures; the Salvation Army Foundation and the Salvation Army Congregation. More than just a charitable organization, the Foundation is the social extension of the spiritual and humanist values of the Salvation Army. It puts its commitment and competence at the service of all who suffer. Prevention, help with reintegration, emergency relief, the mission of the Salvation Army Foundation is comprehensive. The Foundation, whose motto is "To rescue, accompany, rebuild," currently has 5,000 volunteers, employs more than 2,700 employees, and manages more than 225 social and medico-social establishments and services. It is authorized to receive bequests and donations and operates thanks in particular to the generosity of its donors and corporate sponsorship. From supporting former prisoners to creating "night soups"; from the Food Bank to Emergency Accommodation Centers... the Salvation Army has contributed for over a century to advancing human dignity. With this original aspect: it has known how to respond to the needs of its time and constantly adapt its own actions.
