The Coast Guard is a civilian state authority that belongs to the Ministry of Defence's area of operation. We work for life, environment and security at sea around the clock, all year round, along the entire Swedish coast. The Coast Guard has the main responsibility in Sweden for environmental rescue services in state waters. Environmental preparedness is combined with maritime surveillance and law enforcement. All three parts are included in our basic mission and make us an effective resource for society. The Coast Guard is a workplace characterized by cooperation and commitment across different areas.
