Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Nasari was founded in Semarang City on August 31, 1998, amidst the economic and monetary crisis resulting from the national reform in 1997. At that time, KSP Nasari provided a solution for the Indonesian people by offering pension loans/credits to civil servant retirees, TNI/Polri personnel and their widows who collected their salaries at post offices. This received an enthusiastic response from retirees as an alternative for their financial needs, as almost all financial institutions (Banks) at that time could not disburse loans due to the chaotic national economic and financial conditions. KSP Nasari initially only provided services in the Semarang region, then expanded to Central Java Province, followed by the Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java Province, East Java Province, the Special Capital Region of Jakarta & Banten Province, South Sumatra, Bali, NTT, NTB, North Sumatra Province, South Kalimantan Province, East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi Province, and North Sulawesi Province. With the approval of the Minister of Cooperatives & SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia through Letter Number: 01/DEP.I/I/2003 dated January 14, 2003, Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Nasari has been able to serve retirees throughout Indonesia.
