Welcome to the Kreiskliniken Herford-Bünde (KKHB). In January 2023, Klinikum Herford and Lukas-Krankenhaus Bünde merged to form Kreiskliniken Herford-Bünde AöR. A cooperation agreement between the hospitals was already concluded in 2017. Step by step, Lukas-Krankenhaus Bünde and Klinikum Herford have been growing closer together since then. Together as a network, the KKHB aims to strengthen local inpatient and outpatient medical care for the citizens of the Herford district in the long term. In a total of 28 clinics, specialist departments, and institutes with over 1,000 beds, the KKHB annually treats approximately 40,000 inpatients and provides outpatient care to around 100,000 patients, especially in emergency situations. Over 3,000 employees are available around the clock for healthcare. Highly qualified doctors, nursing specialists, and other specialists from numerous professional groups work together in the KKHB. As one of the largest hospitals in the region, we offer top-level medicine. This means we constantly invest in state-of-the-art medical technology, participate in university research projects, and introduce innovative procedures. The KKHB has all the important large-scale equipment for examination and therapy for its patients. We are part of Medizin Campus OWL As a university location for the Ruhr University Bochum, the Kreiskliniken Herford-Bünde, together with the Heart and Diabetes Center NRW and the Mühlenkreiskliniken, forms the Medizin Campus OWL – a forward-looking network for the practical training of medical students in East Westphalia-Lippe.
