Football is the number one national sport. With more than 1.2 million members, the KNVB is the largest sports association in the Netherlands. Every week, the football association, together with 3,200 clubs, organizes approximately 33,000 matches. Men, women, boys, and girls compete against each other on fields and in halls with a sporting and social objective. Football is our life In addition, hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts spend countless hours as volunteers in the sport, for example, as referees, youth leaders, canteen managers, or board members. Also consider the millions of fans of Oranje and the professional football clubs, all of whom derive great pleasure from football. Football plays an important role for all these people. And for many, perhaps just like for the KNVB: 'Football is our life'.
