IRPLAST, long active in the production of polypropylene films, is today one of the world's largest producers of simultaneously biaxially oriented BOPP films (for the production and printing of roll-fed wrap-around labels for the food, beverage, dairy, personal & home care markets), adhesive tapes, and multipack solutions. It has developed unique and distinctive know-how in the design and production of innovative and customized BOPP films: it is, in fact, the first company in Europe in its sector to have installed and engineered a simultaneous stretching line (Bruckner-LISIM). IRPLAST has placed innovation and sustainability at the center of its growth strategies. From the collaboration with SABIC®, the bio-based carbon neutral NOPP (Natural Oriented PolyProylene) polypropylene films and LOOPP films from post-consumer waste, which use raw materials from chemical recycling according to the "mass balance" principle, were born. They are ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) certified and today IRPLAST is the first European company to produce them on a large scale. The company has implemented an important investment plan to reduce film weight and thickness, reduce CO2 emissions by developing packaging solutions that use smaller quantities of virgin raw material, autonomously satisfy energy needs with modern cogeneration plants, and optimize productivity through the in-house regranulation process of BOPP film.
