About Instituto Poiesis

Poiesis is a non-profit civil association that, for almost 30 years, has been dedicated to promoting initiatives for the enjoyment of cultural, artistic, and historical goods and knowledge. Recognized for the excellence of its services, it operates in the field of management, research, development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of cultural, educational, and social assistance projects. In 2008, it received qualification as a Social Organization from the Government of the State of São Paulo, enabling it to be an executor of public policies in the cultural area. From 2008 to 2012, it managed the Museu da Língua Portuguesa. Between 2009 and 2011, it implemented the Biblioteca de São Paulo. From 2010 to 2014, it administered the Espaço de Leitura and the Espaço de Capacitação do Artesão, in agreement with the Fundo Social de Solidariedade do Estado de São Paulo. From 2011 to 2024, it managed the Oficinas Culturais Program. Currently, it is responsible for the management of eight Fábricas de Cultura (Brasilândia, Capão Redondo, Diadema, Jaçanã, Jardim São Luís, Vila Nova Cachoeirinha, Iguape, and Osasco) and three Museus-Casas (Casa das Rosas, Casa Guilherme de Almeida, and Casa Mário de Andrade), Programs and Equipment of the Secretariat of Culture, Economy, and Creative Industries of the State of São Paulo.
