About Instituto Alana

Alana is a pioneering ecosystem formed by three socio-environmental impact organizations — Instituto Alana, Alana Foundation, and Alana Lab — that work convergently to transform the living conditions of children in Brazil and worldwide. Each organization has a unique role, but all share the same purpose: to guarantee children's rights and influence public and cultural policies that affect their lives, in the present and future. We work towards this purpose in five thematic areas that reflect current urgencies and connect science, culture, politics, and social justice. These are: consumption, education, inclusion, nature, and health. Our approach is collective and collaborative: we mobilize knowledge, policies, and narratives to transform systems with children at the center, using multiple strategies such as advocacy, communication, entertainment, philanthropy, impact investing, and children's participation.
