About Idioma Independente

We are a community of Independent Teachers. All teachers are trained to teach using the Independent Language methodology, which was developed by Felipe Santana da Costa, an economist graduated from USP, and he began to disseminate it from 2009. Through his studies with self-taught individuals, he noticed that they learned much faster and more deeply than people who used traditional methodologies. After applying the method to himself and others, the Independent Language methodology was the subject of study by two researchers from Anhanguera University in Campinas who found theoretical basis, providing support for self-taught learning as valid and efficient. In 2012, Independent Language was presented as a success case at FEA-RP, USP Ribeirão Preto, by Administration students, and was included as one of the companies created at FEA-RP. In 2014, Independent Language reached the international scene with an invitation to provide consecutive interpretation for a researcher from Oxford at a congress at USP. The first classes are expository and present the techniques and tools used by self-taught individuals to learn. Then, a personalized study plan is created based on identified needs, focusing on achieving the student's main objectives. The teacher then monitors and evaluates the student's development weekly.
