Human, tolerant, free of religion - as the Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg KdöR, we are committed to enabling people to shape their lives independently. We operate over 70 facilities in the areas of daycare, youth, social services, and education. As a representative of the non-religious, we are treated equally to churches as a secular community. In Berlin and Brandenburg, we run 26 daycare centers, our own college for social pedagogy, and teach the school subject of Humanist Life Skills. With our regional associations, we organize the JugendFEIERn (youth celebrations) in both federal states. Our youth associations, the Young Humanists, organize holiday trips, weekend excursions, and leisure activities for children and adolescents. Furthermore, we offer comprehensive advice and life support, for example in cases of pregnancy and family conflicts, questions about caring for and looking after family members, in cases of housing shortages or homelessness, as well as in the preparation of legally binding advance directives and living wills. With over 13,000 members, more than 1,400 full-time employees, and just as many volunteers, we offer support, advice, and help, regardless of nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or worldview.
