HUMANA Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo promotes environmental protection through textile reuse since 1987 and carries out international development cooperation programs in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, as well as local support, awareness, and urban agriculture programs in Spain. All this within the framework of the social economy. The organization specializes in textile resource management, applying a circular economy model, extending the life cycle of clothing and footwear. The organization has 5,300 collection containers for used clothing in major Spanish cities through collaboration agreements with over 1,000 city councils and private entities and companies. Annually, 18,000 tons of used textiles are collected. HUMANA Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo has 52 secondhand clothing stores in Spain, located in Barcelona and its metropolitan area (22), Madrid (28), Seville (1), and Granada (1), respectively, which generate the necessary resources for financing social programs. HUMANA Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo, headquartered in L’Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona), currently has over 800 employees. It is part of the HUMANA People to People Federation, which brings together 29 organizations worldwide.
