Built in 1908 and fully restored in 2004, it was born from the rehabilitation of the emblematic modernist building known as “Casa Fuster,“ a work by the famous Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, whose works, examples of Modernism, have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We can therefore define it as the quintessential design hotel. The house was a gift from Mr. Fuster to his wife, with the added intention of beautifying the city of Barcelona. It was the architect's posthumous work in the Catalan capital and at the time was considered the most expensive house in the city due to the materials used, including high-quality marbles. The Hoteles Center chain acquired the building in 2000 and rehabilitated it, respecting the originality of the building as much as possible, while at the same time enhancing the uniqueness and spectacularity of such a fantastic architectural piece. The hotel opened its doors in 2004. Casa Fuster not only culminates the work of Domènech i Montaner, but it is the building that, with the utmost dignity, crowns and closes the Eixample neighborhood, and is also representative of the most prosperous and splendid period of Barcelona in the last century.
