Jörg and Anneliese Hieber started very small. From 1966, the couple ran a 50 square meter store in Höllstein, which they expanded to a total of four branches. In the early 80s, EDEKA offered them the opportunity to take over a 1000 square meter store in Lörrach. They closed the small branches for this. After two or three years, their perseverance was rewarded. It started to take off, and more markets followed. Today, Hieber stands for spacious, bright stores with wide aisles, a large selection of regional vegetables and fruits, plenty of fresh fish, meat and sausage counters, as well as an extensive cheese offering. With 1500 employees, 16 stores, and a turnover of approximately 250 million Euros, we are the number 1 fresh food provider in the region. We focus on regionality and sustainability. We maintain close partnerships with nearly 350 regional suppliers. We ensure fair treatment of producers and feel committed to our environment. Exemplary service and customer orientation are always at the center of our actions. Our goal is highly qualified, motivated, and satisfied employees who feel secure and safe in our company.
