About Held & Ströhle GmbH & Co. KG

Since 1949, the VW contract dealers Walter Held in Ulm and Ernst Ströhle in Neu-Ulm have existed. In 1963, the Eberhardt brothers also took over a VW contract with their company. Since 1983, the Held & Ströhle group of companies has been majority-owned by Munich-based MAHAG GmbH. In 1990, the companies Held (Ulm) and Ströhle (Neu-Ulm) merged. Together they now form the Held & Ströhle Group. The Porsche Centre in Ulm-Donautal opened in the same year. In 1992, the Eberhardt company was bought by the Held & Ströhle Group. In 1998, the Held & Ströhle operation in Schillerstraße was expanded into a Volkswagen Centre and a Skoda regional dealer contract was taken over. In the same year, construction began on the Audi Centre Ulm. In 1999, in addition to the new Audi Centre Ulm, the ŠKODA dealership in Neu-Ulm also opened. In 2010, Munich-based MAHAG GmbH was integrated into VGRD GmbH. This also makes Held & Ströhle GmbH & Co. KG a company of Volkswagen Group Retail, Germany's largest automotive retail group.
