About HABITAT & HUMANISME

For over 30 years, the association Habitat et Humanisme Île-de-France has been working to provide housing and support for precarious individuals, enabling them to: be housed with dignity, regain confidence and autonomy through individual and collective support. Through its actions, the association contributes to a city open to all, to living well together and to greater social diversity. It is a member of the Habitat et Humanisme movement, a recognized public utility federation. Habitat et Humanisme Île-de-France manages 1,646 housing units and has 584 volunteers and 116 employees who work against the exclusion and isolation of people in difficulty. In 2023, their daily work and commitment enabled: 2,736 people to be accommodated in temporary or permanent housing, 459 single-parent families and 1,283 children to access decent housing, 244 new households to be housed and supported. The people welcomed are mainly single-parent families, often marked by years spent in hotels, shelters, or in inadequate housing situations. We also house and support young people in dedicated facilities, individuals on long reintegration paths, and we pay particular attention to seniors. The association develops innovative housing and support solutions, adapted to each person's vulnerabilities. It also relies on a network of housing made available by institutional or individual solidarity landlords.
