Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann

About Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann

HKM – Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann has been producing steel in Duisburg South since 1990. The company was founded from a cooperation between Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG and Krupp Stahl AG. Both companies contributed their many years of experience in steel production, and each held a 50 percent stake in the new company at its founding. Today, HKM is wholly owned by the Salzgitter Group. This integrates HKM into a corporate group that has been active in the steel industry for decades and possesses extensive experience in the production, processing, and further development of steel. Belonging to an established German steel group forms a solid foundation for HKM's continued development. At the Duisburg site, HKM continues its long-standing experience in the manufacture of high-quality intermediate materials. The company produces slabs and continuously cast rounds, which customers further process into sophisticated steel products. Thus, steel production in Duisburg South remains part of the industrial value chain in Germany.
