About Hå kommune

Hå kommune is located in Rogaland county, 40 kilometers south of Stavanger. Today, the municipality has just over 19,000 inhabitants. Hå kommune covers approximately 255 km². About half of the area in the municipality is used for agriculture, and Hå is the largest agricultural municipality in Norway. The main focus in agriculture is livestock farming with grass cultivation. The food industry and the mechanical industry are the dominant industrial sectors. Hå kommune is the largest employer in the local community with approximately 1000 employee equivalents. The urban areas have grown around the six railway stations: Nærbø, Varhaug, Vigrestad, Brusand, Ogna, and Sirevåg. The town hall with the municipal administration is located in Varhaug.
